Safe Touch Security Review 2026: Florida Provider — 36-Month Contracts & Better Alternatives
Safe Touch Security is a Florida-based alarm company that has been providing residential and commercial security since 1994. They are a recognized DSC dealer using the Alarm.com platform, but their 36-month contracts, regional limitations, and lack of BBB accreditation raise important questions for today’s buyers.
Company Overview
Safe Touch Security operates primarily in Florida and the Southeast US, offering professionally installed security systems with 24/7 monitoring.
- Founded: 1994 (30+ years in business)
- Headquarters: Jacksonville, Florida
- Coverage: Florida and select Southeast markets
- Equipment: DSC panels with Alarm.com integration
- Monitoring: UL-listed central station
- Response time claim: 45 seconds or less
- Contract: 36 months standard
- BBB: Not accredited
Their systems include Crash and Smash protection — if an intruder destroys the panel, the alert still reaches the monitoring center. This is a genuine security feature, though it is now standard on most modern systems including Abode and Ring Alarm Pro.
Services and Equipment
- Intrusion detection — DSC panels, door/window sensors, motion detectors, glass break sensors
- Smart home control — via Alarm.com app (locks, lights, thermostats, cameras)
- Video surveillance — Alarm.com-compatible cameras
- Fire and CO monitoring — smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
- Medical alert — personal emergency pendants
The Alarm.com platform is a genuine strength — it is the same backend used by many professional security companies and offers reliable remote access, automation rules, and video integration.
Pricing and Contracts
Safe Touch advertises zero down payment — but that cost gets baked into your monthly rate and locked behind a 36-month contract. Here is how the math typically works:
- Installation: Free (with contract commitment)
- Monthly monitoring: Approximately $30-50/mo depending on package
- Contract term: 36 months (3 years)
- Early termination: Remaining months payments typically required
- 30-day money-back guarantee: One of few providers offering this
The 30-day guarantee is genuinely helpful for testing the system. However, the 3-year commitment means you could pay $1,080-1,800 in monitoring alone before you can leave without penalty.
Cost Comparison
| Provider | Monthly Cost | Contract | 3-Year Total | Installation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Safe Touch | ~$30-50/mo | 36 months | $1,080-1,800+ | Free (with contract) |
| Abode | Free-$20/mo | None | $199-1,069 | DIY (free) |
| Ring | $5-20/mo | None | $379-1,049 | DIY (free) |
| SimpliSafe | $0-28/mo | None | $250-1,514 | DIY (free) |
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Zero upfront cost — no equipment purchase required
- Alarm.com platform — reliable app, good smart home integration
- 30-day money-back guarantee — rare in the industry
- Crash and Smash protection — alerts sent even if panel is destroyed
- Lifetime equipment warranty — as long as you are a subscriber
- Fast response time — 45-second claim is competitive
Cons
- 36-month contract required — locked in for 3 years
- Not BBB accredited — unusual for a 30-year company
- Regional only — moving out of service area means expensive cancellation
- No DIY option — professional install only
- Opaque pricing — rates vary, not published online
- Auto-renewal clauses — contract may auto-extend if you do not cancel in time
- Free equipment is not free — cost is subsidized through higher monthly fees over 36 months
The Zero Down Trap
Safe Touch’s zero-down-payment pitch sounds attractive, but it is the same financing model used by traditional alarm dealers for decades: you do not pay for equipment upfront, but you pay more per month locked into a long contract. Over 36 months at $40/mo, you will pay $1,440 — significantly more than buying a $200 Abode system and paying $20/mo for monitoring ($920 total over 3 years).
Who Should Consider Safe Touch?
Reasonable fit:
- Florida residents who genuinely cannot afford any upfront equipment cost
- People who want professional installation and do not want to touch anything
- Homeowners committed to staying in their home for 3+ years
Look elsewhere if:
- You might move within 3 years
- You want transparent, published pricing
- You prefer no contracts — modern DIY systems are dramatically cheaper
- You are comfortable with 15-minute DIY setup
Our Verdict: 2.5/5
Safe Touch Security is a legitimate regional provider with some genuine strengths — the Alarm.com platform, lifetime warranty, and 30-day guarantee are real benefits. But in 2026, the 36-month contract, regional limitations, and lack of BBB accreditation make them hard to recommend over modern no-contract alternatives.
The zero-down pitch is marketing, not savings. You will pay more over time than buying your own system from Abode or Ring and keeping the flexibility to cancel anytime.
Recommended Alternatives
- Abode — Best overall DIY system. No contracts, HomeKit/Alexa/Google, free self-monitoring or $20/mo pro monitoring.
- Ring — Best budget option with massive ecosystem. Starts at $5/mo.
- SimpliSafe — No-contract system with optional professional install if you want hands-off setup.

FAQ
Is Safe Touch Security still in business?
Yes. Safe Touch has operated since 1994 and continues to serve Florida and parts of the Southeast US.
How much does Safe Touch Security cost per month?
Safe Touch does not publish pricing. Expect $30-50/mo for monitoring with a 36-month contract. Equipment is included at zero down but subsidized through higher monthly fees.
Can I cancel Safe Touch Security early?
You can cancel within the 30-day money-back guarantee period. After that, early termination typically requires paying remaining contract months. See our contract cancellation guide for help.
Does Safe Touch use Alarm.com?
Yes. Safe Touch systems use the Alarm.com platform for remote access, smart home control, and video monitoring — one of their genuine strengths.
Is Safe Touch Security BBB accredited?
No. Despite being in business for 30+ years, Safe Touch is not BBB accredited. This does not necessarily indicate poor service, but it is worth noting when comparing providers.

Computers have few secrets left for him, but home security and alarm systems… Well, those have plenty of secrets for their users, which William is now uncovering and explaining. His articles on home security helped many people take the matter seriously, invest in highly performing systems, and avoid becoming victims of burglaries.

Don’t bother buying. Much better systems on the market for much less money. Their warranty is good until they decide to change the terms and not tell you. I’ve had multiple panels replaced under the warranty, now the panel is not covered. Costs $350! A newer and more updated alarm costs less!
Beth says
My parents have been wanting a security system and someone recommended Safe Touch to them so I looked in to it. Maybe it was the person I spoke with on the phone or something but she seemed to have no idea what I was asking. I asked to talk to someone else several times and then the call got disconnected 3 times. I am not sure how they stay in business if they can’t even speak to possible new customers. I am going to try again tomorrow.
